Pros and Cons Of the Cricut Expression

Cricut Expression

The Cricut Expression is one of Provocraft's biggest die-cutting systems, and one of most versatile Cricut Machine. Most people just love it! Like any tool, though, there are pros and cons that one should consider before making such an investment. If you're like me, you have already made up your mind that the Cricut Expression is a necessary part of your crafting toolbox, and do not regret the decision at all, but to assist others, especially those new to cricut products, in making the decision in purchasing the Cricut Expression, here are the pros and cons...

PROS

Large cutting mat: The size of the Cricut Expression allows for a cutting mat from 12 x 12 to 12 x 24, allowing you to cut full sized scrapbooking card stock without doing any trimming, allowing you to get the most out of your paper investment, and it saves time.

No need for a computer (like all cricut machines): This, to some, is the biggest benefit of all Cricut machines. You do not need a computer to use your Cricut Expression, and so do not have to carry around a computer as well as your Cricut whenever you go somewhere to use your machine. Your Cricut Expression relies on simple, portable cricut cartridges that allow you to design on the go.

Versatile user interface: A simple, and easily changeable user interface allows you to design with a few, simple presses of a button. Changing the keyboard template allows you to preview your designs before you cut, enabling you to cut the exact image that you need, on the first time.

CONS

It's a big thing: The Cricut Expression is a larger machine, and to some, this may make portability an issue. Getting a carrying case will solve this issue quickly, and it will also allow you to keep your machine and supplies in great condition!

More expenses on cartridges (like all cricut machines): The Cartridges are an added expense to your Cricut Expression. You need different cartridges to truly experience all that the Cricut Expression has to offer. Though for the amount of fonts, font options, and shapes that you get on each cartridge, you would hardly notice, especially with the licensed cartridges available that would normally require a copyright to cut.

Small user interface: Unless you do not care for switching keyboard templates, or typing on a small keyboard, than the user interface is probably a con for you. Making small modifications or notes on your templates will make this a much easier process.
